Letter from Amanda | A Founder Story
Hello and Howdy!
Thanks for taking the time to visit Visible Talent Company—I’m so glad you’re here. Whether you’re just browsing or seriously considering your next great hire, I appreciate you showing up for the future of your team.
Visible Talent began with one clear goal: to build an agency where no one has to shrink who they are to find work that matters. I grew up in a small trailer park with a big extended family. I learned early that work wasn’t just a value—it was survival. My parents ran a second-generation pizza shop, so conversations about food costs, payroll, and broken ovens were the background noise of daily life. I learned early what it means to keep things running, even when the odds aren’t in your favor.
That upbringing taught me how to work—really work. Whether it was running the register, sweeping floors, or helping with the business, I was raised with the kind of practical experience no classroom teaches. But like many people from working-class families, we got stuck in the role of operator—focused on survival, not scale. I knew this had to change, for my future.
Eventually, I found my way into Elementary Art Education, and later into academia. I taught at Kent State University while launching and running businesses of my own—from hospitality to real estate investing. No matter the venture, my through-line was always this: helping people from all walks of life access opportunity. I experienced my passion changing from creating art to supporting my community, visually and through meaningful work.
As such, Visible Talent grew from that mission. Today, I help clients build high-performing, people-first teams by going beyond traditional hiring channels. I curate and deliver talent others often miss—because I know what it’s like to be overlooked.
My focus is especially tuned toward supporting women, queer professionals, and other underrepresented voices—like myself. I bring that lens to every candidate I place and every culture I help shape.
Most of my clients become long-term collaborators (and friends). Go ahead, ask them.
Yours in Talent and Tenacity,
Amanda
